I ALWAYS brush my hair when it's wet. Oops.

Did you know that you should wait until your hair is mostly dry before brushing? When your hair is wet, it stretches and is at risk of breakage. If you can't wait, gently use your fingers or a wide-toothed comb.

Gratitude Journal

Ever since Oprah said to do it, I've been trying to keep up with a gratitude journal. I would always lose steam. Then someone gave me the awesome idea of keeping it simple and I've been keeping it up! Place your journal on your pillow case and before bed, LIST 5 things you're grateful for and 3 successes of the day!

Wet n Wild follow-up!

As I mentioned, the shadows that came in the "Comfort Zone" palette were super pigmented. Comparable to my Urban Decay shadows..some colors were even identical. However, the Wet n Wild shadows are so soft that you pick up a lot of shadow. Be sure to tap the excess. I also use a fan brush to get any off my face.

Weekly Brush Cleaning!

Morning! I took a shower and my makeup brushes did, too. Ideally, you should clean your brushes every week. I use shampoo but a reputable cleaner is Parian Spirit. There are also brush holders for drying but just laying it out on a towel is fine. (if the tips are over a ledge so the brush hairs aren't lying flat, even better!)

Shake it! Blend it!

If you're into making juices, smoothies, or shakes, this is a must have! It has a whisk-like ball inside that mixes everything up when you shake the bottle. Absolutely fantastic now that I'm blending leafy greens into my juices!

Back to Japonesque

My makeup bag got stolen but joke's on them! My mom had already sent me a new makeup bag AND it gave me the opportunity to change my eyelash curler, which is AWESOME. I got the JAPONESQUE® Power Curl lash curler because people said it's comparable to the Shu Uemura one, but I think it's better! And free curler pads for life!

The after is really close up and my eye shape looks completely different. But see the difference in lashes! I used Stila Stay All Day mascara (it's amazing)!

Surprise!

Came home from a long day and saw these in the mail from my mom. Like me, she can't pass up a good deal at Marshall's! Lauren by Ralph Lauren makeup bag & wallet: $20 (originally $58) and $39 (originally $158). She didn't even bother to take off the tags...she's proud of finding a bargain.

Guess what I've been using??

My buddy Joni got us Mulberry Silk charmeuse pillow cases. The fine silk allows your face to slide across it as opposed to settling in and causing wrinkles AND prevents friction so that your hair doesn't experience breakage! Good for when your hair is wet and the follicles are open (I'm guilty of sleeping with wet hair!)

Review: Wet 'n Wild Eye Shadow

A lot of YouTube beauty gurus and online reviews talk about how fantastic Wet n Wild Eyeshadows are so I had to try them out for myself. I got the 8-color Comfort Zone palette for $5.49 at a local drug store. The shadows were highly pigmented and easy to blend. I heard the texture can vary by color, but the colors I used were smooth. I didn't expect this cheap brand to actually be so good!

Ugh...Grown Up Time! Finances!

I recently attended an event sponsored by Ladies NYC and LearnVest called "Planning for Your Future."  It sounds painful, doesn't it?  But it wasn't! A couple of girlfriends and I went, drank some wine, played with the most adorable Shiba Inu, and got some answers to questions that nobody likes to ask.

Just picked up the Maybelline Whisper in Pinup Peach at Target for $5.49. I'm loving how soft my lips feel. No waxy lipstick ickiness or lipgloss gooeyness. Not for long lasting pigment, just weightless sheer color.I'm totally going to buy more colors (there are $2 off coupons in various magazines)!

Long Lasting Trend: This Dress

I was stoked to see that fitted flared dresses are in for Spring! My Forever 21 dress from seasons ago is definitely going to see some sunlight again! This was at the "I Don't Know How She Does It" premiere that Olivia Munn invited us to...one of my favorite memories!
