Neon Fun

When I was in middle school, I rocked out the neon. I even matched my neon orange shirt to some crazy bright orange slouchy socks. As I grew older, I felt like neon had the stigma of being too loud and tacky. I gravitate toward bright colors, and I am especially fond of vibrant, intense hues for sneakers. So I am extremely happy that neon is way back in!

Dermablend Review

I had an audition where they wanted to see feet.  I have two star tattoos on my right foot that I wanted to cover up, and my agent's assistant raved to me about a product called Dermablend.

Macy's is a great place to test out Dermablend; the counter has a salesperson who can help you apply it and pick out the correct shades.

My agent's assistant was talking specifically about the Dermablend Leg & Body Cover, which is $27 at Macy's.  I also ended up buying the Leg & Body Tattoo Primer ($25) and the Setting Powder ($23).

Review: Oil of Olay Age Defying Body Wash

I am a huge fan of Oil of Olay products, especially their Regenerist line.

So I gladly picked up an Oil of Olay Age Defying Body Wash during one of my whirlwind Target shopping trips (I live in Manhattan, so I get really giddy when I make the rare trip to the Brooklyn one).

First of all, I was impressed by the gargantuan 23.6 oz. container.  The product boasts of containing two times the amount of cleansers and moisturizers - and 25% less water - than the top-selling body wash.  And it is made from a gentle soap-free formula.

A Non-Sticky Solution: Dissolvable Labels

You're looking in your freezer for the chicken stock you made last week.  But after a torturous time rummaging through all the plastic bins and baggies, you finally find it in Tupperware labeled..."pesto sauce"?

Oh, that's right. You hate dealing with peeling off the old, stupid stickers that don't entirely come off containers so you got lazy.

That's no longer a problem with dissolvable labels!

Sephora, You Really Love Me

I'm an avid fan of Sephora's colorful emails advertising their tempting beauty products...which I then usually buy at Amazon for cheaper.

Besides the constant reminders of makeup that I shouldn't be purchasing, being a Sephora Beauty Insider has its perks.  One of them being that you receive a FREE birthday gift from Sephora.

Rain, Rain, Don't Go Away...

image via travmonkey.com

This is what I imagine the bustling city to be like on this rainy night. But I wouldn't know. I actually haven't stepped outside the apartment all day. While friends are off gallivanting around town and experiencing the excitement of first dates, I smile inwardly as I stuff my face with Trader Joe's cheese puffs.

Usually, my restless little soul would be scratching at the door for an opportunity to leave the place. Even a grocery store run to know that I had at least inhaled some of the city air today. Normally, I would feel ridden with guilt, and I'd chastise myself for being so lazy. Yet, today is so different. I can't quite put my finger on it.

Zaggfolio vs Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Case for the new iPad

With my recent possession of an iPad, I was researching which keyboard case to purchase.  Luckily, Best Buy has an AWESOME return policy in which you can try out something and return it within 30 days without penalty or restocking fee.

It came down to two choices: the Zaggfolio and the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard.  They are both retailed for about $99.

Here is the video I made regarding my experience with both.  My first tech review-ish kind of thing.

Since I'm yapping so much, here is a guide to fast forward to relevant info to you.

Perspective

So I found out that I got released off a hold on one of the jobs.  It was the print one.  The casting director was kind enough to write me.  She said they had decided to go all Chinese.  I'm Korean.  Nothing I can do about that, right?

My people mixed with white on left, My people full on right, middle: not my people

I can see how this could be a Godsend for people who find out they don't get booked and analyze every single possible reason why they didn't get booked.  That's not fun.

There are so many arbitrary reasons that could have come into play that you really must not get down about it.  For example, could you imagine if the casting director didn't tell me and I knocked myself for not booking it, attacking myself for not being good enough. And all along, I wouldn't have been able to change a thing. Right?

A Great Opportunity for Entrepreneurs

Facebook was abuzz with posts requesting people to vote for a small business to get funded via Living Social and Chase's Mission: Small Business program that would reward winners with $250,000 grants.

The application and voting period has ended for that contest, but if you are dying to nurture your business idea and make it a success, Daily Candy has also teamed up with Chase to bring you the Start Small Go, Big contest.

A Way to Save at H & M!

I love me some H & M. So when I found out that you can get 20% off an item of your choice when you sign up for their email newsletter, I had to get on it.  How easy is that!

If you're worried about giving an email address out, send it to one of your crappy email addresses.  You DO have one of those, right?  The one you only use to sign up for stuff like this.  Or you can simply unsubscribe after receiving the coupon.

Anyway, here's the link to sign up.  Happy H & M'ing!

Day-Cation

With the fast pace life of New York City, it's easy to get bogged down by the daily grind of work, the commute, errands, the list goes on and on.  You probably experience this to some degree wherever you are.  Most of us have gone through that wonderful human condition called burn-out.

In the summer, New Yorkers who are fortunate enough to have the means usually escape to the Hamptons or jet off to some exotic location for the weekend.  My less-glamorous-but-still-fun version of getting away from the Concrete Jungle is taking a car or scooter trip to Robert Moses Beach.  It reminds me of my regular trips to the beach with my girlfriends in California.  It's a nice balance between relaxing and getting my body moving with some swimming.  And with a nude beach nearby, I can pretend we are in some foreign country among lots of foreign naked bodies.  It's my go-to day-cation!

This past weekend though, we had an exciting change in routine and visited our aunt and uncle in the country! Check out our adventures in the Hudson Valley.

My First Post with Blogsy

Good morning, everyone. I started my Saturday with a fun episode of Archer (isn't that show amazing?) and a marbelized cup of Joe. And oh yes, I just coughed up the $4.99 to get the Blogsy app. I'm a miser when it comes down to spending money on apps, but I had read so many posts and articles praising Blogsy that I figured that I should give it a try. Which is what I'm doing right now.
