It's Cute. It's Colorful. It's eos Lip Balm.

source

Ok, I'll be honest. When I first saw these egg-shaped lip balms people would pull out and practically suck on to apply, I thought they were ridiculous.  I had no desire to pucker up for this gimmicky product.

Then their marketing magic hit me.

Another Ippudo in NYC!

One of my favorite ramen places in New York City is Ippudo NY in the East Village.  And the over 4,700 reviews on Yelp reflect its popularity.  I will admit that I've met my share of haters who like to declare the mediocrity of the place. But I feel like patrons tend to get mad at establishments that require a huge wait.  Yes, this place can be a pain in the ass.  But you can avoid the lunch and dinner rush and be fine. I even went the other day with a friend at 7:30pm and only waited for 20 minutes.

Akamaru Modern

My favorite is the above ramen.  Read this description from Ippudo's menu:  The original silky "Tonkotsu" (pork) soup noodles topped with Ippudo's secret "Umami Dama" miso paste, pork chashu, cabage, sesame kikurage mushrooms, scallions, and fragrant garlic oil.

Did you read that?  FRAGRANT garlic oil!  I also like to get a side of spicy paste to add to the ramen.

And Ippudo is opening another location on the West Side on July 13th.

Get ready to enjoy the Tonkotsu broth ramen and all the other favorites from the East Village location.  There will be additional exciting dishes  like wontons stuffed with crab meat, sea urchin toast,  gluten-free Shojin ramen, and vegan/vegetarian ramen options!

Review: L'Oreal Telescopic Liquid Liner

source

This product is kind of a bummer. The main issue is that the formula is super watery.  The first application will look like water color paint...with lots of water.

The liquid color can be described as "transparent gray". (Excuse my unkempt eyebrows here, please.)

The other problem is that the felt tip is so pointy and hard that when you try to add another layer of liner, you may move some of the first layer. You can see the gaps below where an attempt to add more liner scraped off the existing liner.

On average, I needed about 3 layers to get a nice, consistent dark line. That's a lot!

After the arduous task of applying this liner, I did not experience any smudging or smearing. So once it was on, it stayed on.  If you're willing to try it out, it is about $10 at drugstore.com.  It definitely did not work out for me.
