Week in Pics!

I don't know if you could tell by the rampant social media posts....but it snowed!  This is one of my favorite buildings in New York City: the Ansonia.  It makes me smile every time I see it.

I know these magazines are trashy, but they help a sister out on the Stair Master. Time just whizzes by when your nose is in the ridiculous drama of celebrities.  And Tori, if it's true, I'm so sorry you're dealing with that BS. :(

This is us chilling after an amazing yoga class that one of our acting classmates teaches...for only $5 a class.  Yoga To the People offers some affordable options!  I love working out with friends. But I won't lie. The mistakes made by all parties are much more hilarious when you know each other.  Messing up moves in a choreographed dance class, falling off the treadmill, farting in yoga...all those offenses are way more appreciated by your friends than by strangers.

I was the creator of a couple of struggle plates last week.

I got inspired by the Trader Joe's chicken tenders I blindly bought after seeing my friend toss a package of them in her basket.  When I got home, I saw panko crumbs in our cabinets.  So I looked up a Martha Stewart recipe for baked chicken tenders. Although I was missing much of the ingredients, I decided to go ahead with my mission. (bad move)

They came out so bland. I just tossed them in a kale salad and tried to ignore the now-soggy crumbs. My husband was kind enough to pretend he enjoyed them with eggs. That man has very good acting skills.

I got super excited about including chia seeds to my diet.  I decided to make banana pudding with the seeds.  So I mashed up the bananas and mixed them in with almond milk, vanilla extract, coconut sugar, and the chia seeds. Then I covered the mess and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight.  It came out looking like vomit.

It should have looked more like this.

I tried again with just chia seeds and almond milk.  Using less almond milk was the trick. (see bottom left)  The other dishes are examples of my more healthy choices I've been making. Kale salad with lots of jalapenos and green peppers, steel oatmeal and coconut sugar, and Greek yogurt with strawberries.

I read an US Weekly recipe for high-protein, metabolism-quickening meals that Jennifer Lopez's dietician recommends.  So I attempted the mustard pork tenderloin with mustard greens. The pork came out great.  The mustard greens tasted awesome, too. But my husband and I realized that we have some strange reactions to mustard greens. It's like a hangover in leaves.  I'm glad that I don't absolutely love mustard greens. If I had that kind of reaction to french fries, I'd cry.

I've been wearing my 2 denim shirts a lot.  Before these shirts, I had never owned one.  I think I thought they were too mom-like.

Hence, my decision to use a denim shirt to pull off a FOB mom look for an audition.

I swear my Stila mascara is the only one that works for my wimpy lashes.

Although, I found a photo of another mascara that did wonders. But I have to figure out what it is.

Awesome Sunday night dinner Korean style at my friend Joni's apartment.

2014 has been the year of group buddies!  I have an acting and a fitness accountability buddy.  I also meet up with two wonderful actresses weekly to plan out our acting action plans.  It's a great thing to work with others toward your 2014 goals!
