Rooftop Fashion

Throwback to a past photoshoot

I picked the wardrobe...all from H&M.

My husband hates these pants.  They got that high waisted thing going on that he thinks flattens my butt. I try to explain to him:  I just have a flat butt.

Fun Sunnies for Summer 2015

Forget those plain, boring sunglasses! (I know, I know. I'm also a fan of the simple classic sunnies.)  This summer's all about color and pizzazz!

Let's start with the embellished sunglass trend.

Fun Summer Timepieces

1.  At $40,000, this gorgeous Chevron Louis Vuitton watch is an affordable option for withstanding beach sand and saltwater. Obviously, I'm kidding. This is certainly not a timepiece accessible to the masses, but I'm sure there is a Chevron watch out there inspired by this design. <----You're clicking here to buy??? Hey, I ain't mad at ya.

2.  I am SUCH a sucker for products that allow for various looks. This Limited Edition Cecile Multifunction Fossil watch alone has a timeless design, but the multiple straps (and some being reversible) can trick you (me) into believing that it's more than one watch! -$285

You can also purchase the Fossil Women's AM4509 Cecile Multifunction Silver-Tone Stainless Steel Watch without the extra straps for $125.

3.  This turquoise beauty is perfect for the active lifestyle.  I love Nixon products, as you will see below. The Comp S reminds me of my jelly Baby-G shock from back in the day. This super light, water resistant watch is also scratch resistant and built to handle high-impact situations (ideal for someone like me who has horrible hand-eye coordination and constantly bangs my wrist into the walls). - $100

4.  AT $17.90, this Forever 21 abstract watch is a steal. What a fun way to jazz up an outfit! Also, the design is reminiscent of my weird black and white hammer pants back in the 90s...and Roger's hair.

Remember Doug?

5.  Doesn't this Swatch Limbo Dance Watch just scream SUMMER? All the tropical goodness in a cute, happy watch. - $70

When you think you lost your $10 H&M sunglasses, so you pick up $6 Forever 21 ones...only to find your "lost" glasses again. That's why I need to stick to disposable glasses.

Cat Eye, aviator, round, square...What are your favorite type of sunglasses right now? *The people behind me hate me selfying.

The Evolution of My Curls

I've always had hair issues. Ask anyone who knew me back in high school and college.  It was a giant bush of long pubic hair on my head.  (Oh, that I will save for another post!)

Yet, I had hope when I saw other Asian girlfriends of mine using curling irons to get those beautiful tousled beach waves.  One of those friends was Erin.  She also happened to be the awesome girl who inspired my move from LA to NYC in 2009 to start my acting career.  Yup, we moved together into our Murray Hill apartment.

Of course, if you want to start your acting career, you have to get your headshots.  Within a month, I was using Erin's curling iron to create these horrible curls for my very first headshots.

WHY?

Why didn't I even TRY to separate the curls??? It looks like my hair is literally made up of two giant curls.  Almost like two curly pigtails. Ugh.

Trend: Sleeveless Jackets

Last month, on a commercial set, I noticed that the actresses dressed as fashionable waitstaff were all wearing sleeveless jackets. I pay attention to what stylists put on the talent because obviously they will be up to date on the latest trends. Sure enough, I kept seeing editorial spreads and magazine articles showcasing various armless outerwear. (Many times, they were referred to as "sleeveless vests," but aren't all vests sleeveless?)

To me, the style seemed to lose its purpose. If I'm wearing a jacket/coat, it's because I want to be warm. Why expose my arms??  But I've gotta admit...some of the looks are kind of cute.

Here are some of the ways to wear the sleeveless whatever-you-want-to-call-it.

Throw it over a sleeveless shirt or tank top on those milder fall days.

So what do you think?  Are you ready to cut the sleeves off of your favorite coat?

Las Vegas: #MyCosmoStyle

Vegas.com recently got in touch with me regarding a fun little blogger style challenge.  The question: What would I wear during a day at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas?

First, I'm always thinking about food so I would hit up Jaleo for some tapas. Don't forget the sangria!  If you're a brunch/buffet type of person, the Cosmopolitan offers up the traditional Vegas buffet experience with an added touch of elegance at Wicked Spoon.

Why not start the day with a bit of glam?  No need to question a bra top for brunch. It's Vegas.

After the food coma nap, it's time for a little exercise at the Marquee Dayclub.  Of course, swimming is optional.  People-watching is a must at this pool and bar area spanning 22,000 square feet.

In my fantasy day by the pool, I would be all about the accessories.  And in my fantasy, sunblock and getting in the pool have no effect on this ensemble!

I'd wear this flirty cut out dress for dinner at Scarpetta and dancing at Marquee.  And try not to fall in those Vince Camuto heels!

Writing this entry really makes me miss going to Vegas.  When I used to live in LA, it was an easy trip to make. I remember my girlfriends and I planning out our outfits for those Vegas outings!  Fashion was definitely part of the experience.

Did you have a favorite #MyCosmoStyle outfit?  What do you typically wear in Las Vegas?

And don't forget to check out the Cosmopolitan on your next trip to Vegas.  More information about the hotel here!

Double Sided Earrings

Count on Emma Watson to lead us in earring trends!  She was rocking earring cuffs in a previous post here.  More recently, she has been wearing a style that I've been seeing on ladies everywhere:  double sided earrings (also called front + back earrings)!

Sarah Jessica Parker was also photographed wearing a pair of stylish double sided earrings.

She was wearing Vita Fede's Double Cubo silver earrings ($750).

SJP seems to be quite the fan of Vita Fede.  She also picked up a pair of the Double Cubo pearl earrings ($775).

Even Jennifer Lawrence got in on the double sided earring action at the Dior fashion show yesterday. (And yes, people totally gave her shit about her self tanner fail. But I don't care. I love her.)
