You can help The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and enter yourself to win some prizes!

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is a great organization that offers services and resources for defenseless animals, including adoption centers, behavior centers, investigations into possible animal cruelty, and Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinics.

I originally got the idea from a Mark rep to raise awareness and encourage donating. You can always make any amount donation here on their website.  It can be monthly or just a one-time donation. Don't forget that you can write it off when you do your taxes.

I also wanted to give the opportunity for you to give just by shopping. All commissions from sales through my Mark eboutique until October 31, midnight, will be donated to ASPCA! There are only a couple of products that have no Mark commission, such as the m.powerment line, in which the proceeds go directly to charities working with victims of domestic violence. Everything would be shopping AND helping ASPCA!!

In addition, for your donation or purchase on eligible Mark products (any amount donation or purchase), I will enter your name into (random number generator) to be picked to win a goodie package which will include a new Mark Super Flip! I'll try to mix up the goodies in the prize so it's not just makeup for the guys or non-makeup enthusiasts, but this is definitely included! Hmmmm....what else to include??

If you donate AND make Mark purchases, I will include your name in the drawing twice.

So jump on both the ASPCA donating page here and my Mark eboutique here . If you'd like ideas on what products to buy, Allure magazine online mentions their favorite Mark products here .

And remember, if you aren't in the place to donate or buy anything, that's ok. There are wonderful options for you to help out and volunteer your time at a local shelter or to join in activism.

You could also do your own fundraisers. When I was teaching, our advisory class had a service component. My students decided to do flower deliveries, where they provided a service that sent messages attached to gerber flowers to other fellow students. After paying off the costs of flowers & materials, they raised over $100!! I was so proud of their work!

You can learn about doing a donor drive, throwing parties, and other events to help raise money for ASPCA or other causes here .

Thanks and good luck!!!

Important notes:

*Contest ends October 31, 2011 at midnight EST.

* Please send an acknowledgement email of your donation to ASPCA to so I can enter you into the contest. You may delete any private information. I just need to know you donated.
